Sand Castle Cake

I made this cake for our summer reading program fundraiser. They are having a cake auction tomorrow. I thought that a sand castle cake would be appropriate since it is going to be July. Everything is edible on this cake (with the exception of a couple wood skewers). I thought it turned out cute. The "sand" is graham cracker crumbs, and the shells, umbrella, and shovel are made from fondant.
The kids always want to help me when I'm making cakes, so I baked them each one that they could decorate how they wanted. Here is the finished product!! (MacKelle accidently dropped her's on the floor, so the frosting is a bit smashed-but still beautiful!)

Mason at Five Months

Here is Mase at 5 months-he is rolling all over and loves to chew on his feet. He is eating solids now-we haven't branched out a ton yet, but so far his favorites are peaches and apples. he loves trying to drink his sippy cup too, but likes to spit it back out just to get another drink.

Trace's First Year in Pee-Wee

Trace Loved Pee Wee Baseball, He did get a little distracted visiting with his buddies sometimes, but hey, they call it Pee Wee for a reason, right?
Here is a good action shot of Trace running the bases.

Trace at bat. He got pretty good at hitting the ball! I didn't get to see much of his team (I was down at the tee ball field most of the time and Justin was helping coach Trace's team), but what I saw, he got a hit every time.

Look at those fielding skills!! The biggest difference I've noticed from tee ball to pee wee, is that the kids are actually paying attention in the outfield, and of coarse, the lack of a tee. Trace seemed to love pee wee much more than tee ball. He didn't want to miss a practice (even got mad when we almost did). It was a good season.

MacKelle's First Year in Tee-Ball

It looks like she might be doing a somersault in this picture, but no. She sat like this for about five minutes. I think she was trying to see the game from a new perspective. I think the kid watching her is wondering what the heck she is doing!
Here she is as short stop pondering the meaning of Tee-Ball.

This is MacKelle at bat. The best part is that she is about to hit the ball, backwards. Don't let her hair fool you, it was just blowing that day.

Here is our action shot of her running to first. You can't really see it well, but she is wearing a bracelet with bells on it. She always needs to accessorize.

Here is a picture of her right after hitting the ball. This is her Tee-ball outfit. The shirts were HUGE on her, so we cut it down and made it smaller, we took the extra shirt and made pants
with matching stripes. It was pretty cute.

Just for the Hail of it

Since June started I think we've been given a T-Ball curse. So far, without fail, we have had poor weather roll in right about in time for T-ball practice/games (Or during). Today was going to be another T-ball practice and, this time, along with rain, we got some hail. This is what piled up by our down spout off our house.
And this is a pile of hail that slid off our roof where two peaks meet. Needless to say, the curse continues. T-ball was canceled again.

I WON!!

Yea!! I won that super cute notebook!!! I'm so excited! Thank you Bobi!!!!! I love all your cute crafts you do, and it is fun to be able to reap the benifits of your labors! :) You ROCK!

Just the Boys

Justin decided that it would be fun to teach Trace about shaving. So they got all lathered up. . .
And with the guard on the razor, Justin taught Trace all about shaving.

They were so cute!! I love my boys!!
